About Me

Rochelle Ashana Photography
Washington, D.C., United States
My love of photography started in elementary school when I took pictures with my father's polaroid camera. We'd all stand around the blank polaroid film and watch the picture appear like magic. My favorite time to shoot pictures is right after the sunsets. The colors are magnificent! I use to surf at dawn patrol when I lived in California and in Maui. I love to shoot pictures at dawn. The sky and the shore is so peaceful at that time. I graduated from UCLA. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Commercial Arts and Design. I was the photo editor of the yearbook.I moved to Maui and became a photographer for the luaus and an underwater videographer for the Trilogy Boat Cruises. Everyday on the wide blue Pacific Ocean I would greet the tourist, "Welcome to my office!" Dolphins, flying fish and humpback whales were my models. I am a lifetime student of martial arts.( Jeet Kune Do, Escrima, Weapons). My community service is teaching children art classes and coordinating fundraising events. I moved to the East Coast to be closer to family. It's all about making every moment count in your life. And what better way to acheive showing that then in a photograph."
